Reminder to Florida Property Owners
A note from Wayne Township Assessor Michael E. Musson:
If you have a second home in Florida and are receiving Senior and Homestead exemptions, please contact my office to ensure that you are not receiving these exemptions on your Illinois property.
Florida counties have the power to collect taxes for previous years if they discover property owners receiving exemptions on more than one property. We have been told of situations in which tens of thousands of dollars in back taxes were levied against such property owners.
