Overview
Public Assistance and Link Account information
If you have a touch-tone phone, the Quick Answer System of the Illinois Department of Human Services (DHS) can give you recorded information about:
- location of your local DHS office,
- availability date of your cash or food stamps, and
- If your case is active, suspended or cancelled.
The Quick Answer System is available 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. 1-800-252-8636 (voice) or 1-800-447-6404 (TTY)

Illinois Link - 1-800-678-5465 (voice) or 1-800-526-0844 (TTY) For information about your Link account balance, call toll-free, 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. Have the number on the front of your Link card ready when you call.
